FEEDBACK
I have so much enjoyed reading issue 5 of Australian Age of Dinosaurs. What a year! (Diary of an Australian Dream)
… a magnificent mesa (images in the mind of Acropolis and its
Parthenon), an ex-Deputy Prime Minister as patron, ‘Matilda’, more digs
and fossils, meteorites, storage facilities and major companies as
supporters. None of these happen without a lot of hard work so please
accept my congratulations and admiration. What most delights me is that
this has not come from on high, but from what today is called the
‘grass roots’ – an ironic metaphor in such a long drought. Once again,
echoes of that quote, “Starting at the top, a movement can force a
reluctant change. Coming from the base, it can generate change of far
greater consequence.” May you all continue to generate!

I was recently in the USA on a dig in
Montana with the Judith River Dinosaur Institute and took my copy of
issue #3 to show some of those on the dig. The guy in charge, Nate
Murphy, was rather impressed and thought that the lady in the photo on
the title page of Kronosaurus
Chronicles (Pages 14-15) could have been his grandmother. She was an
assistant to Alfred Romer, the Harvard zoologist who is also present in
the photograph. We were working on a stegosaur site about 100km north
of Billings Mountain. There was a lot of bone and everybody had
something to work on. I can claim to have found a tibia! I must
congratulate you all on issue #5 of Australian Age of Dinosaurs.
It is wonderfully done and certainly keeps up the standard of previous
issues. There have been some interesting happenings in Australian
dinosaurs, not the least is the projected museum. It would be well
worth applying for a grant or Churchill Fellowship to go overseas to
look at some of their institutions.

![]() | Enclosed is a photo of the kids of class 4K (Northview State School)
writing and making their own booklet about their favorite dinosaur.
This was one project that their teacher said really held their
interest, boys and girls alike. The Age of Dinosaurs books came in
handy as a great source of info for the kids, and as our daughter had the
only copies one lost its cover, one got taken home (later returned) and
all got read from cover to cover with great interest. |
Your enthusiasm helps awaken us all to the wonders and yet unexplored marvels of our earth. We look forward to reading the fascinating articles your group provides.

I have just received Issue 4 of Australian Age of Dinosaurs and would like to congratulate you on a job well done. This is a world class magazine. Great news about ‘Wade’ the new dinosaur find; let’s hope the skull is still preserved as then it will be a really important find. Well done!

I have just renewed my subscription to Australian Age of Dinosaurs for two years. I thoroughly enjoy this publication and even though I am only a subscriber, the articles give me an exciting feeling of “close proximity to extremely important discoveries and many of the people associated with them” and all this is happening very close to where we live. I feel very privileged to be on your mailing list and would like to pass on my admiration to all who do the work to produce such a high quality magazine.

We have just received the latest issue of Australian Age of Dinosaurs and want to congratulate you on a fantastic job. Well done. There is so much in it that we wonder what you will find to put in the next issue. We wish we were a bit younger so that we could join a dig in 2004. We are both over 80. We may do a trip of western Queensland again and if we get as far as Winton we may call on you, perhaps during the September dig. We would be prepared to put in a day’s digging. Best wishes, and keep up the good work.

I really enjoyed the second issue of your magazine that you sent me! My husband, Hank, and I visited you last September with the Lions group. That was the highlight of the whole trip for me. We met quite a few of you; you are the friendliest group I’ve come across. I’ve been picking up ‘pretty rocks’ since I was a kid. This is the first time I’ve seen serious picking up … I loved it!
