AAOD DINOSAUR BOOKS FOR CHILDREN

We're excited to announce exclusive new AAOD children's books!
Read all about the adventures of four of our most famous dinosaur friends – the quiet and intelligent Elliot, delicate and caring Matilda, gentle giant Clancy and cheeky little Banjo (who sometimes gets a bit cranky)!
All three books are available from our online bookshop, either separately or as a set.
The Author's Inspiration
Rose Siva first met Matilda in the winter of ’08 at Belmont Station, the home of our founders David and Judy Elliott. She had come up to Winton for two weeks in the ‘prep shed’, working on bones found in the field that were just waiting on some patient soul to come and ‘prep’ them (i.e. painstakingly extract them from the rock).
“As I worked on Matilda it became obvious to me what sort of dinosaur she had been. Her bones were delicate and crumbly, unlike Elliot’s’ bones which were solid and strong, and Clancy – well, he had been such a BIG boy” said Rose. “And Banjo was such a mischievous cheeky fellow. These images built in my head as I worked on the bones, to the point where I was having dino dreams".
Too much dino dust probably! When Rose returned to ‘real life’ she used her contacts and experience to develop the concepts and teamed up with emerging graphic artist Shane Robinson.
Following several meetings where Rose described the dinosaur characters Shane drew up a series of graphic profiles. Rose then developed the various story lines around the characters, and brought Matilda, Clancy, Elliot and Banjo to life!
