2006–2008

The Hon. Tim Fischer AC

Tim Fischer AC was Deputy Prime Minister of Australia from 1996 to 1999. He retired from Parliament in 2001 and served as Chairman of Tourism Australia from 2004 to 2007. He received Australia’s highest civilian honour in 2005 when he was made a Companion of the Order of Australia. Tim became the first Patron of Australian Age of Dinosaurs in June 2006, a position he held until 30 July 2008 when he was appointed Australian Ambassador to the Vatican in Rome. Tim Fischer’s last day in his role of Australian Age of Dinosaurs Patron was spent at The Jump-Up, Winton where, to a large audience of AAOD Foundation Members and supporters he unveiled the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Foundation Stone (pictured above) with State Member for Mt Isa, the Hon Betty Kiernan MP.

Denise O’Boyle

Denise O’Boyle has been a member of the AAOD Society since 2005 when she attended her first dinosaur dig. She has since been to every dig we've held and made numerous trips out to Winton to work on dinosaur fossils in the AAOD Laboratory.
A dedicated member of the Winton Dinosaur Preparation Project team for 3 years when based at Belmont Station, Denise's dedication and financial support has made her one of AAOD’s most important and valued participants.

2010

Bill Wavish

Bill Wavish has been a member of the AAOD Society since 2004 and a Director of AAOD Limited since it commenced operations in June 2008. Bill became Australian Age of Dinosaurs’ first Lab Patron in 2010 through his generous 12 month sponsorship of an indigenous youth to become a Fossil Preparator and Tour Guide at the AAOD fossil preparation facility. Bill continues to contribute to the organisation in many ways and is one of Australian Age of Dinosaurs’ key supporters.
